provide updated information to the numerous Grenadian
citizens resident throughout the Bolivarian Republic of
Venezuela, around the world and also to private citizens,
investors and governments who are interested in learning
about Grenada and its present developmental thrusts.

to the Government and people of China following the
earthquake disaster which has left thousands of
people dead and injured.

Application to set aside appointment of receiver:
Today,
the High Court ruled in favor of Capital Bank’s
application, by revoking the appointment of Mr.
David A Holukoff as the Receiver of Capital Bank
International Limited.

Cheques:
The Government of Grenada views with great concern
the growing list of returned cheques, now in its
possession, totaling almost EC$300,000.00, as at
April 7th, 2008.

April 30th, 2008 - New Payment
arrangements for Public Assistance and Needy
Students:
Due to the recent
incidences of theft at the District Revenue Office (DRO)
in St. Patrick’s and at the Magistracy in Grenville
St. Andrew’s, the Government of Grenada, through the
Ministry of Finance, has reviewed the security
arrangements at all DROs and other Government Cash
Collection offices and have made several changes.

Tuesday April 29th,
2008- Get Fit Grenada Launched: Prime Minister
Dr. The Rt. Hon. Keith Mitchell has launched a
National Health and fitness programme called Get Fit
Grenada. The Programme was launched on Saturday
April 26th at the Body and Soul Gym and is aimed at
promoting Healthy Lifestyles by emphasizing exercise
and healthy diets.

Monday, April 28, 2008, St. George’s- TIC
Delegation:
A five (5) member delegation from the public and
private sector will leave Grenada on Tuesday April
29th, 2008 to attend the 9th
annual Trinidad Trade and Investment Convention
which will be held from April 30th - May
4th 2008 at the Centre of Excellence,
Macoya.

2008, St. George’s -
Minister of Finance
files petition for reorganisation of CapBanK:
The Minister of Finance has filed a petition in
Court for the reorganization of Capital Bank
International Ltd under the Banking Act of 2005 and
is currently awaiting a date for the hearing of this
Petition. As previously announced, Government is
working to protect the interest of depositors of the
Bank.
