Lewis Hamilton in Grenada

Wednesday February 6th 2008, St. George’s: Racing sensation Lewis Hamilton has arrived in Grenada to be part of the 34th Anniversary of Independence. Mr. Hamilton who has Grenadian parentage, landed in Grenada late yesterday evening and was greeted by his grandparents and a delegation of Government Officials.

Both Lewis and his father Anthony expressed their delight to be back in Grenada and thanked the people and Government for inviting them to be part of the Independence Celebrations.

This morning the Hamilton family met with Prime Minister Dr. the Rt. Hon. Keith Mitchell, and thanked the Prime Minister personally for the hospitality they had received. Prime Minister Mitchell expressed his gratitude to the Hamiltons and said, “Grenadians are very proud of you. Everywhere people are excited about your visit, especially the residents of Grand Roy. I have heard and seen this for myself.” He also told Lewis that the young people of Grenada were looking forward to hearing from him at the Independence Day Ceremony.

Lewis Hamilton, and his family are in Grenada as special guests of the Government of Grenada.
