Thursday 17^th April 2008- St. George’s: Grenada will join with the rest of the in celebrating World Day for Safety and Health at Work on April 28^th 2008.

In 2003, the International Labour Organization began observing this day, stressing the need to prevent work-related illnesses and accidents at work.

The focus is to capitalize on the traditional strength of tripartism and social dialogue under the theme, managing risk in the work environment.

The slogan for this year’s celebration is “My Life, My Work, My Safe Work”.

The Department of Labour is in the process of planning some activities to coincide with this global event with the hope that workers in Grenada will see it as their collective responsibility to strive towards protecting lives.
