Grenadian Nationals give thanks in Venezuela

Caracas February 2, 2009: Grenadians resident in the city of Caracas, Venezuela gathered on Saturday January 31, 2009 and participated in an Inter-faith Thanksgiving Church Service to commemorate Grenada´s 35th Anniversary as an Independent Nation. It was held at the Centro de Milagros Ministerio Internacional.

The church service began at 3.00pm with an opening Prayer, the singing of the National Anthem, Welcome remarks and two readings from the Holy Scriptures. This was interspersed with the singing of hymns.  A Tribute to country and a Patriotic Poem were also read. The Governor General’s Independence Message and the Prime Minister’s Message were read by Ambassador Richard Mc Phail. This was followed by the sermon from God’s Word by the resident Pastor of that church, Pastor Joshua Aminchi Joch. He admonished those present about being free, independence and living examples and excellent role models we should look up to.

The service concluded with announcements and a Vote of Thanks. The persons present were specially thanked for turning out despite the inclement weather.

This event started off a week of activities to celebrate Grenada’s 35th Anniversary of Independence.
