The Grenada Drug Information Network (GRENDIN) is revising the
indicators used for gathering and analyzing drug related
statistics.
The network currently uses (9)
Indicators which comprise the GRENDIN Questionnaire of
Indicators.
These Indicators focus on issues
such as: Treatment, Mortality Control of Pharmaceutical Products
and Controlled Chemicals, Seizures, Arrests, Court Cases,
Convictions, Criminal Deportees, Financial Crimes, Firearms,
Ammunition, Explosives, Other Related Materials and
Incarceration.
The process of revision would
involve a series of meetings with Institutions which participate
in implementation of the national drug control program.
Implementation on the revised
Indicators would commence in January 2011.
The Grenada Drug Information
Network (GRENDIN) is the mechanism through which Grenada
coordinates the collection and dissemination of drug-related
statistical information and other relevant information.
The objectives of GRENDIN are: To
provide accurate, relevant and timely statistical data on the
nature and extent of the drug situation in Grenada; To increase
coordination, dialogue, and cooperation among the institutions
which work in the area of drug control, through the exchange of
drug-related statistical information; To inform policy makers
and the general public on drug trends and related matters.
